TRAP LEAGUE

QUICK OVERVIEW
The ASP Trap League is a traditional, team-based league designed for consistent competition with flexible scheduling. Teams are placed into divisions based on early performance and compete head-to-head within their division for the remainder of the season. Division champions are crowned at season’s end, followed by an awards banquet.

Shooters have 25 weeks to complete 18 league rounds. Weekly attendance is not required.

TEAM FORMAT

Teams consist of 7 shooters

The top 5 scores are used to calculate each team’s score per round

Shooters are not required to shoot together

Shooters may compete on more than one team

Teams may rotate shooters from round to round

SCHEDULING & FLEXIBILITY

HEAD-TO-HEAD SCORING

2 points for a win
-
1 point for a tie
-
0 points for a loss
Head-to-head points are the sole determining factor for division standings.
Cumulative score does not determine division winners.

HANDICAP SYSTEM

A rolling 3-week handicap average is used
-
Handicap scores are capped at 24

A shooter must shoot a 25 to receive a score of 25

Dummy score rules remain unchanged from prior years

Handicap rules are applied consistently within divisions to maintain fair competition

ATA SCORES

ATA shooters may use up to 8 registered ATA scores
-
ATA scores must be declared ahead of time
-
Eligible scores may come from approved events (e.g., Spring Opener, Big Ole)

TIEBREAKERS
-
There is no club championship
-
Teams may optionally shoot an additional 50-bird team score
-
This score is used only as a tiebreaker
-
If one team shoots the optional 50 and the other does not, the team that shot the 50 wins the tiebreak
