ASP GROUNDS MAP & PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

Parking Overview

To ensure a smooth and organized experience at ASP, we've structured our parking plan around one central reference point:

🔹 Practice Trap (PR) = Central Dividing Line

Where to Park

🔵 Blue Lots (West of Practice Trap) Teams shooting on traps WP to 5B will park in Blue Lots.

  • Coaches may drop off gear at trap line, but vehicles must be parked in one of the blue lots.

 

🔴 Red Lots (East of Practice Trap) Teams shooting on traps 6A to 9B will park in Red Lots.

 

🟠 Orange Lot (Overflow & Trailer Parking)
Campers who arrive early and cannot access their assigned camping spots must use the Orange Lot, designated for overflow and trailer parking.

 

All lots will be clearly marked with color-coded signage.

Restricted Parking Areas – No Exceptions

To maintain flow and protect park grounds, parking is NOT allowed:

  • Along the main road into the park

  • Within camping areas (unless assigned a spot

  • ​

On-Site Transportation

To assist with getting around:

  • People Movers will run daily between the Blue/Orange Lots and Central Station. Shuttle will start at 6:30 am and run until the end of the day.

    • Viking Sportsmen will operate them and accept donations/tips. All tips/donations will go to help Viking Sportsmen fund Youth Outdoor Activity Day. 

  • Titan Machinery has generously donated tractors to keep everything moving.

 

Traffic Control:

  • From 6:30–9:00 AM, Viking Sportsmen will guide vehicles into correct lots.

  • After 9:00 AM, a smaller team will remain on-site to assist as needed..

IMPORTANT LOCATIONS

  • NEW The ASP Rangehouse –  Located on the trap line, this building offers practice ticket sales, pop/water/snacks, ASP merch, and customer service support.

  • NEW Lakes Area Arms – ASP is now home to a full-service retail store offering guns, optics, ammo, archery gear, and sporting goods! 

  • Central Station – USACTL’s basecamp. Find your 25/50/75/100 straight patches, USACTL merch, and more!

  • Showers/Bathrooms – ASP’s bathroom and shower house. Closed to the public during shooting hours; opens daily around 5:00 PM.

  • Awards/Ice Cream – Ice cream served daily starting at 10:00 AM. Awards ceremonies held here daily around 5:00 pm0 PM.

CAMPING

Enjoy the convenience of camping on-site for the MNSHSCTL Trap Shooting Championship!

  • Conveniently close to the city of Alexandria

  • Electric and Water Hookup

  • Dump station 

  • For check in and check out times, expect to have your camp-spot open by 6 pm the day you arrive. We ask that you depart your can-spot before 6 pm the day you leave. 

ASP RULES

​
  • All guns MUST be uncased at the vehicle.

  • All guns MUST have the action open and unloaded when walking around and the muzzle pointed up. to the sky (semi auto & pump) or down to the ground (break open) except when on firing station.

  • Eye and ear protection REQUIRED.

  • Shooting vest, pouch, or apron REQUIRED.

  • One shell in the gun.

  • All shotgun ammunition must be clay target loads - #7.5, #8, or #9 shot.

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages prior to shooting is PROHIBITED.

  • Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed on the field

  • No spectators on the field--- shooters, referees, and officials ONLY.  Please stay at or behind the sidewalk.

  • MUST posess a valid driver's license to operate a golf cart

TEAM TRAP LOADING

This is one of the largest shooting events in the country and to help it run smoothly, teams are responsible for filling their traps. Here is a quick video on how to fill safely and effectively. Thank you for your part in making this a one-of-a-kind event.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

​Cost: $8/full round or $4/round of 10​

Where to Purchase Tickets: Range House Building on trap line.

When and Where to Shoot Practice:​

June 8th: Practice open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

June 9th - 17th: Practice (10 rounds/2 per post) opens at 7:00 am and will pause for the Opening Ceremonies at 7:45 am. Practice will resume after opening ceremonies on the PR trap and will run until 7:00 pm (last ticket sold at 6:30 pm).
